Good Life with osteoArthritis in Denmark (GLA:D)

As a complement to the ACT Clinic, Zero Gravity Physiotherapy is now running the GLA:D Program out of their clinic. The GLA:D program is an adapted patient education program from Denmark that is targeted at patients living with osteoarthritis (OA). It highlights the importance of early intervention (education & exercise) for people with mild, moderate, or severe OA of the hip and/or knee. It has the potential to improve the quality of life of this extensive group ( 20.4% of Canadian Adults currently live with OA ) and may delay or prevent the need for surgery for hip/knee OA.

The GLA:D program utilizes extensive OA and lifestyle education provided by a registered Physiotherapist coupled with hands on manual therapy and a specific exercise program designed through evidence-based research. These exercises are specifically chosen in order to help improve health of the joint and provide prolonged pain management for patients with OA.
